Sorry, I should have explained what I meant better. I would export a file to .dds and then cut the picture back onto the canvas from the .png file and save it again (I'm not the best at explaining things).

I was doing the same thing with Paint.net but my images were still dark. I think some of your images have the same problem to a lesser degree. gar_krol, author of the LCD Movies mod, gave me a tip that fixed the problem. I tried it with GIMP and it worked! Paint.net doesn't seem to be capable of adding Alpha channels like this.

"To make your image properly lightened you need to create an alpha channel that will be used as brightness map, where black is the brightest and white is the darkest. The most simple way to do so is to
- copy entire image with all RGB channels selected,
- create blank alpha channel and paste it there,
- invert this newly created channel.
After that export your dds file as usual."

@WiseWoof I used to use a converter, but that will often cause darkness in images. I import the pictures into paint.net and then save them as a .dds file, this will keep their original brightness.

I like the mod. I tried creating a similar mod with custom images for a server I play on. Problem is some of the images are very dark. Did you have a similar problem? If so, how did you fix it?
