Salvager Vessel - Lucky Skip

A vessel reclaimed from a battle by an enterprising group of salvagers, the Lucky Skip was once a Farren Mk II but was abandoned after losing its port nacelle , its secondary reactor, and most of its jump drives. Its new crew replaced the second reactor with a large hydrogen fuel tank, and rebuilt the missing nacelle to run on hydrogen. The living quarters were also expanded to house a crew of four, and the gyroscopes were moved to the airlock pod in order to make room for living accommodations. Finally, rather than replacing the missing Jump Drives, the Aft pod was converted into a small hangar bay that can accommodate a small surface-to-orbit shuttle.

A unique feature on this craft is its "Silent Running" protocol which turns off all lights, broadcasting equipment, external doors, and turrets to simulate an unpowered craft. The thrusters, gyroscopes, and jump drives are unaffected by these protocols, allowing a crew to escape an area of engagement relatively undetected.

PFI later purchased the vessel from its crew as an example of the versatility PFI builds can provide to engineers in many situations.
