Yeah, this is basically a really fancy skydome. It doesn't do light shenanigans like it would in other softwares like Blender, but it does have an HDR component to it, so you can use tonemapscale (i.e. the sun will still be bright if you drop tonemapscale) or do post HDR toning without the image breaking down. Also, this HDRI (plus others I may upload) work great with lightprobe reflections, since they use 16 bit textures, and capture the additional detail this HDRI brings to the table.
