Harmonic Resonance Mod Release Candidate

The Harmonic Resonance mod strives to add cosmetic changes to Helium Rain that stay in line with the vanilla game's overall look and feel.

It is compatible for the Steam release only (not for GOG version of the game) with HR Fanmod found here:

Harmonic Resonance can be installed without the above mod also and is compatible with GOG version of Helium Rain.

New appearance configuration options:

- 10 new player company emblems to choose from (found ingame under -> 'company' -> 'appearance')
- 8 new camouflage pattern options also used by the AI along with new color schemes for the AI. (found ingame under -> 'company' -> 'appearance')
- Adds a new Flak-Cannon model to the game instead of using the vanilla ARES model.
- Adds Navigation lights (red/green/white) blinkers to most vanilla ships that were part of the Helium Rain Mod Kit:

- Solen
- Ghoul
- Dragon
- Omen
- Orca
- Invader

... and also to all new ships in the mod.

13 New Ships:

Kelvin Scout
Spearfish (Starfish) Cutter
Wyvern Heavy Frigate

Military - L-Class - combat

Dora
Leviathan

Military - L-Class - trading

Basilisk Blockade Runner: 6x600
Baltazhar Blockade Buster: 4x600

Solaris Bulk: 3x250 (B version)
Solaris Gas: 6x125 (G version)
Solaris Liquid: 10x75 (L version)

The 21 Technologies are now in 7 levels of 3 - instead of the vanilla 5 levels.


Resolved bugs from previous Mod installments

Changes from the previous versions: and Resolved Bugs

- Solaris Gas has correct number of cargo slots now.
- Removed the cargo slot text in the description - it shows how much each ship has in the 'purchase ship' screen.
- Removed Engine model entities that showed when the pilot fired weapons manually.
- Changed the floodlight position on the Wyvern so it does not glare on the cockpit display making it non legible
- Solen shuttle received solar panels.
- Leviathan blueprint received an overhaul changing the look of the ship, the placement of the cockpit and adding an extra gun emplacement.
- With the Starfish cutter, RCSes were not able to be upgraded because they were damaged ad perpetuum and could not be repaired. This has been resolved.


* It is advised to turn motion blur off in the graphics options when using this mod.
** Use a clean save to test this version for bugs or anomalies.

Rectified Technology bug: set it back onto 5 levels instead of 7. I assumed the game engine was going to play nice and accept the 7 levels, but indeed research could not be done past level 5.

- Some stations got a visual revamp.
- The 4 planets around Nema got new high res textures
- The Dora cockpit was moved to a more appropriate place.

I'm playing thi!s game in 'sandbox' mode with the HR Fanmod linked above, where you can skip the Pendulum quest.

I'll see if I can research beyond level 5 here.

You need to go to Helium Rain savegame folder. On Windows, it will be Users/[user]/AppData/Local/HeliumRain/saved/SaveGames

Find save file (SaveSlot1.json, SaveSlot2.json etc)
Open it with any text editor (I'm using Visual Studio Code, but anything will work)

Search for "UnlockedTechnologies". In my case it looks like this:

Yeah, same here.

I've looked at save game file (gzipped .json, so it's easily readable), and there's no info about research level. So I guess that game computes "level" by total number of research used (and t caps at 5).


As a workaround, You can manually add researched techs ("advanced-stations" in this case) so there's a way to build foundries, tokamaks and complexes.

Devinw188, seems the case with my game too. Probably game limits to max 5 levels as level should increase by each researched technology

Loving Everything so far! I am having the same issue as Kajanov though, I can't seem to figure out how gain tech levels past 5?

kajanov, mods work only for Windows versions. Force proton on Linux.

Thanks a lot fo r the mod. Really enjoying it, however, how do you unlok tech past level 5?
I have all the techs up-to level 5 and can't research anything elese?
If it's the pendulum quest, how are you supposed to get electrtonics for it (as they are locked under the L7 advanced stations tech)?

Thank you for making these beauties here. It is one of my favourite relaxing space games, where you don't need to build a mega empire

I'm so glad to see that this game, in which the dev's have poured their hearts in, gets some well deserved love from the modders too :)
