"Vinjesvingen is a village and road fork in the municipality of Vinje, Norway. It is mainly known as the site of the Battle of Vinjesvingen [en.wikipedia.org] on the early stages of World War II. During the Norwegian campaign [en.wikipedia.org] this battle took place in May 1940 in the Telemark county, Norway. It became one of the two last strongholds of the organized Norwegian military resistance in the central and southern parts of Norway, until ceased with the capitulation of the forces fighting at Hegra in Sør-Trøndelag and Vinjesvingen."
