For anyone who needs better performance for whatever reason, try "Advanced Garbage Collector" - it really helps! Also ALWAYS use "M3mory" mod, which significantly reduces garbage in your savefile, effectively reducing its size a LOT! This also saves FPS and prevents the game from crashing due to overlarge savegame files hen playing long sessions. It works with most kinds of custom saving systems too, as long as they're using the vanilla base (and those are the only one that can give you trouble).
And jut to say this: Some people really load all of their mods, no matter what mission they're playing. That's REALLY BAD PRACTICE! Create mod presets in the launcher and only load the mods you need for a specific scenario. It's happening often that people load a hunndret mods for anything they play and then wondering about bad FPS, crashes and other issues.
