yikes, this mod is old. keeping this up just for archival purposes i guess. feel free to revamp this mod if you really want to.



The Kingdom of Soissons historically existed from 457 to 486 and was a rump state of the Western Roman Empire. It lasted a full 10 years after Western Rome collapsed, and it came to an end at the Battle of Soissons, where the state was absorbed into the Kingdom of Francia.




This mod is an alt history scenario where the Kingdom of Soissons became a successor state of Rome, and was made an autonomous region under the Franks, and later the French. This lasted for almost 1000 years. After multiple attempts to escape the rule of France, they finally broke free with the help of England in the 100 Years War. They later betrayed England and became neutral in the final years of the ensuing 100 Years War. between the English and French. The state maintained full independence thus far up until 1444. Stuck in between England, France, and the Holy Roman Empire, the Kingdom of Soissons is in a precarious position.
