It makes sense: when you see a laser beam, you're seeing air molecules that had photons run into them and then re-emitted them. So even a laser with higher-energy photons would appear red from outside the path of the beam.

Finally, the heresy has been redeemed.

First, I want to say that this is one of my favorite mods! So simple, but such an improvement. No wonder it has a mid-sized town's worth of subscribers. :)

I've figured out how to change individual units' weapon colors (such as if you wanted to just change the Guardsmen and nobody else). It's not as simple or elegant as Pilgrim's work, but it's more targeted. I've detailed how you do it in my modding guide:

Could you make another mod like this to make them blue like the Tanith 1st?

Turns out neither of those has lasguns/lascannons as their weapons. As far as I can tell, all units that use lasweapons came out before you made this mod. Does it apply to each individual unit, or does it change something in the code that makes all lasweapons red?

Does this mod apply to units released after 2020 such as the Devil Dog and Rogal Dorn tank? I haven't played as the Guard yet, and wanted to know if they got the color or not
