描述
Reduces the Diplomatic Favor penalty for owning an Original Capital city.

The May 2020 update introduced an annoying new gameplay mechanic. Conquered capitals now bestow a -5 per turn Diplomatic Favor penalty that lasts for as long as you own the city. This wouldn't be so bad if the penalty lessened over time, but it doesn't.


My fix is to reduce this penalty to a more reasonable -1 Favor per turn.






Compatible with the base game and both expansions.

It works without conflicting with other mods, even in saved games! But I've already conquered a lot, so the minus stats just go down lol

Wiping out a civilization doesn't remove the penalty if you control their capital, and since you can't raze capitals either, it really hurts Domination.

Ideally, you would have to wipe out a civilization to lose the capital penalty, while other nations hate you regardless. But I guess they wanted to gut capital taking completely.

and this was before I met anyone else, so it makes perfect sense I'd lose all that diplomacy.

Funny story. As Montezuma, I meet Peter. First thing I do is attack him for his luxury resource. He was without a warrior, and my eagle warrior could easily assault the capital, removing him from the game. I suffered a -5 diplomacy penalty ever since. Gonna need a bunch of fancy walls and remain in the monarchy.
