Ernie Ladd

Ernie Ladd was an outstanding football player who helped the San Diego Chargers win the AFL title in 1963. Ladd began wrestling during AFL offseasons before retiring from football due to a knee injury.

After his injury, Ladd committed to wrestling full time, embarking on a second career that landed him in the WWE Hall of Fame in 1995.

The Big Cat wrestled for multiple NWA territories (including the WWWF) throughout much of the 60's, 70's, and into the 80's.
