描述
Iruka is a tropical region somewhere in the South Pacific. It has an accompanying map theme as well to make the land, sea and sky look more like this part of the world, as per the photo. You can use it or a different one if you prefer.

You can play the basic 9 tiles of the map if you want however all 81 tiles have been meticulously terraformed and are fully usable. Personally, I reckon you'll be missing out on a lot if you just do the inside tiles.

The inland consists of hilly extinct volcanic ranges with the occasional flat tableau to build on for those who like their privacy. A waterfall on one of the highest peaks provides fresh water to the region. Two streams fall behind the mountains into the sea while the main central river cascades towards the beach in a series of short falls and rapids.

The coast line is flat with two low but buildable atolls - which I have to admit might be in trouble if a tsunami rocks up. Probably best not to think about it. Just develop them, get out quick and hope for the best. A third island features a large flatland - perhaps suitable as an airport - surrounded by the crumbling walls of an eroded volcanic caldera.

Oil, ore, farmland, and forests are in abundance and within convenient reach of the highway which travels north to south, as does the railway. An additional rail line heads inland to some mysterious neighbouring land unknown. Strange folk live there. Again, best not to think about it.

The grass, sand, and rock textures are all original. I especially wanted the cliffs to look less like the 'dry mud' default and more like igneous rock, which I think I've pulled off pretty well. Except for the Mass Transit DLC which I needed for the two-lane highway, everything else on the map is vanilla base game so you don't need any other mods.

Iruka is completely hand terraformed. It is the first map I've made for Cities Skylines however the terraforming process here is very similar to Second Life and Open Simulator where I've made zillions of regions in the last twenty years.

The name 'Iruka' is a nod of tribute to the Irukandji continents I built in those two worlds.

I hope you like the region. I'm about to start building on it myself so hopefully I'll have that tale up on YouTube shortly.

Have a great one, Andrew T @ Sims and Prims

Could you please add a few more pics of the map. (IE: points of interests, full overhead of map, over head of the various resources,.) What outside connections are there, and how many of each (Rail, ship, aircraft, highway) ?
