One of 13 multiplayer levels exclusive to the N64 version of Turok 2: Seeds of Evil. To keep the framerate high on the N64, they featured very simple geometry in comparison to the singleplayer maps. However, they also had a nifty feature that the PC multi levels lacked: you could change between 9 different texture sets.

You can change the textures in-game between 9 texture sets by pressing the use key on the holographic texture set name.

This map is fully StormFox compatible if you, for some reason, wanted to play the map with it enabled.

This is not a 100% accurate recreation, nor is it meant to be. The lighting is far less simplistic on account of the relatively newer engine that Garry's Mod uses.

Some important things to keep in mind:
  • This recreation is half the size of the actual map from Turok 2. This is because Garry's Mod has fall damage, while Turok 2 does not. Travelling around the map also takes a shorter amount of time as a result. If you want to play at the original height, you can subscribe to Dynamic Height + Crouch Fix and then set your custom height to 32.
  • For the texture set swapping mechanism to work, nearly every single textured brush is a func_brush entity. These func_brush entities are non-solid. The entire map was duplicated, converted to func_detail entities with a transparent texture applied to them, and then layered on top with the func_brush entities to act as solid surfaces. Finally, the entire map was sealed with normal brushes that you'll never see unless you no-clip outside the boundaries.

I've considered recreating the campaign maps once I finished recreating the multi maps. However, they are far bigger and far more complex in geometry than the simplistic multiplayer maps that I'm currently recreating for Garry's Mod. They also contain a lot of models, textures, and sounds that I'd have to convert for Source, whereas for the multi maps I only had to convert a single model.

I'll probably tackle it eventually, but I'd only really begin work I'm confident enough in my mapping skills.

Would there be a Port of Adia map or a River of Souls map? those two are my favourite maps ever. All the other campaign maps can go to HELL!
