E-class Locomotive ( modless no dlc)

My first foray into the locomotive world! The E-class locomotive is a fast (and edgy) locomotive which runs on the MK. IV Edgy Track. The Engine is propelled by two large atmospheric engines and is held on the tracks by pistons. Pistons are the most stable option (that I have come across) for adhering the E-class to its rails (I previously tried suspension-less wheels and blast doors but to no avail). The cockpit of the E-class is spacious and full of glass providing a full view of the tracks ahead. A large(ish) empty room is located at the rear of the cockpit for use at the buyers disgression.


Setup: "Stringing the train" The E-class starts off life as a ship with detachable lift and lateral thrusters. To put the train on the tracks, spawn it and orient it so the central piston line is touching (or very near) the top and bottom tracks. After the train is oriented (using the reverse pistons button) have the pistons extend so that they touch the track. This step is critical as the pistons must be properly positioned in order for the train to work properly. After all the pistons have extended, test the movement. If the E-class does not move, retract the pistons just a bit until the locomotive is movable. After it is "strung" release the lateral and lift engines and the train should be good to go!

E-class peculiarities: avoid large stints of rapid acceleration as this could result in the bottom rail coming through the cabin. It handles speeds of 70-100mps well, however, use disgression when exeding these speeds. The Pistons of the E-class have also been known to gyrate wildly up and down irrespective of what is done. If this occurs, re-paste the train.

If you want to leave the hustle and bustle of the cockpit and have the train "pilot" itself, simply turn off the dampeners and override both forward thrusters to 1.1 mn and the train will glide along the tracks without exploding.
