Messerschmitt ME-262

描述
The Messerschmitt Me 262, nicknamed Schwalbe (German: "Swallow") in fighter versions, or Sturmvogel (German: "Storm Bird") in fighter-bomber versions, was the world's first operational jet-powered fighter aircraft. Design work started before World War II began, but problems with engines, metallurgy and top-level interference kept the aircraft from operational status with the Luftwaffe until mid-1944. The Me 262 was faster and more heavily armed than any Allied fighter, including the British jet-powered Gloster Meteor. One of the most advanced aviation designs in operational use during World War II, the Me 262's roles included light bomber, reconnaissance and experimental night fighter versions.

Me 262 pilots claimed a total of 542 Allied aircraft shot down, although higher claims are sometimes made. The Allies countered its effectiveness in the air by attacking the aircraft on the ground and during takeoff and landing. Strategic materials shortages and design compromises on the Junkers Jumo 004 axial-flow turbojet engines led to reliability problems. Attacks by Allied forces on fuel supplies during the deteriorating late-war situation also reduced the effectiveness of the aircraft as a fighting force. Armament production within Germany was focused on more easily manufactured aircraft. In the end, the Me 262 had a negligible impact on the course of the war as a result of its late introduction and the consequently small numbers put in operational service.

Features
  • Detailed fuselage with 3d wings.
  • Moderately easy to fly
  • Flaps and leading edge slats
  • Nice cockpit
  • Wheel can brake
  • Proportionate and scaled almost 1:1 A little too large

    User Manual

To pitch, roll, and yaw, use TG, FH, and RY Respectively.
LeftShift turns on the engine, Throttle up with V, throttle down with B.
E toggles landing gear, Q toggles flaps
    LeftAlt to enter cockpit view

Very important! Operation Instructions. Read all of it!

This is a somewhat heavy jet with a long take off roll. To take off, turn on the engine and throttle to full; make sure to gain enough speed, then simultaneously pitch up and activate the flaps. Once in the air its decently easy to fly with a slight downwards pitch at low airspeed. Landing requires one to throttle to low power and activate flaps until one is slowly descending. The wheels automatically brake when the engine is shut off, always land with the engine on but low or no throttle, then when on the ground shut off the engine to come to a full stop.

Creators Note: Some of you may notice that I used a different building style, that being wooden panels instead of warped braces. I believe that this style suits older aircraft better. Expect more wooden planes in the future.

Unfortunately, I was unable to add armament to this without inflating the block count too much, but hopefully the attention to detail in other areas makes up for this deficiency. Also sorry for not filling the two gaps at the nose, I got lazy.

It's turned on with Leftshift, but you have to increase (or decrease) the power with V and B.

good looks but how do I turn on the engine?

I don't generally make any alterations to previous creations unless they're broken

not a bad design and was wondering if you had time to make the variant that had boosters on it

Thank you!
I've had a version with surface blocks around for quite some time now, although due to some quirks of surface blocks it hasn't been uploaded yet. Probably won't for a while, at least not until the metal material is added.

Mr. Mango, I must congratulate on this very excellent work of yours.

The way the landing gear works so smoothly, the flaps, the faithfulness of the fuselage! Beautiful.

By the way, do you plan on doing another version with the new surface block? That'd be very interesting!

srsly man wtf diz some good shiz u got here dawg
