From the pages of DRAGON Magazine comes Gary Gygax's tri-level chess variant, Dragonchess!

The models for the figurines come from mz4250 on Patreon[www.patreon.com], who creates beautiful 3D-printable fantasy miniatures that are free to download and print! If you subscribe at a high enough tier, you'll get access to his Commercial Friendly collection of models to use in your own projects like this one! It took a small bit of conversion, decimation, and a little bit of normal-baking to get them down to a file/memory size that won't totally choke TTS, but nothing too serious. If you're at all interested in actual physical tabletop miniatures, visit their Patreon page[www.patreon.com] and subscribe today!

PDFs of the original article by Gary Gygax in DRAGON Magazine #100, a revisit from DRAGON #400, and the Wikipedia article on Dragonchess are all included. The board colors come from the article in DRAGON #400.

Please note there are some alternative rules at The Chess Variant Pages[www.chessvariants.com] designed to help clean up some version-1 problems, like the ability for a Dragon to capture a Sylph on the very first move.

Absolutely amazing, only nitpick is the subterranean board is mirrored. Other then that one minor thing it's perfect!

I will look into mx4250's patreon. I have seen many of his free models on thingiverse, and they are great.

I tried the TTS custom link, but I only get the base of the figure. I don't know why :/

That will give you access to their Google Drive folder and all of their 3D printable models!

If you just want access to these specific Dragonchess models, if you right-click on a model in Tabletop Simulator and choose "Custom," the address for the file is in the "Model/Mesh" box. It's in OBJ format, so you may have to use a program like Blender to convert it to a 3D-printable STL file.
