It is working allright with v1.49, let alone v1.40 (but I see you posted your question in 2021, so I understand, since I remember not by chance that v1.40 was released April that year). I am using this MOD since v 1.3x (cannot remember when, but it was short after v 1.34, when I started back in 2019). Although it has little errors in its DEF files and a .dds file, so that in some cases, the paintjob is displayed badly with certain modifications of the chassis, if I remember corectly. Mostly with DAF XF Tuning Pack DLC... mostly.
