Alright. Geometry can be hard to reduce on models as nice as this one. I appreciate the effort though!

I tried but could only reduce about 50 triangles at most...

Could you maybe reduce the poly count by 1/4? ~1000? You could try a .25 decimate modifier in blender and the texture should still wrap the same.
