Van Diemen's Land

The map before you has taken a decent amount of time to bring to fruition (not much else to do whilst in Covid-19 lockdown), and is based off Maria Island (pronounced as 'Mariah Island'), located in Tasmania, Australia.

A little bit of history:

From 1642 until 1856, the island state of Tasmania in Australia, was previously known by it's Dutch name; Van Diemen's Land. Named by Dutch Explorer Abel Tasman, after the Governor-General of the East Indies (Indonesia), Anthony van Diemen. Maria Island was named after Maria van Diemen, the wife of Anthony van Diemen.
