Back to the Old Road

“The old road will take you to hell, but, in that gaping abyss, we will find our redemption!”
Note: this is my very first modding attempt in any game ever. Although I took it very seriously, I only view it as a way to challenge myself in a field where I’m an improvised amateur, trying to learn something new every day, in the hope I’m capable of creating something sensible, and worth sharing. So, forgive me if it’s not that exciting, but, as you can tell, I had to make it really simple: I started with a wallpaper (meh). I started with an edited wallpaper (ah!). In a game like DD, variety is always welcome, I guess. Anyway, the idea came during a typically suicidal run in the Weald: what if you rediscovered, in your restless scouting, the place where our beloved caretaker threw you and left you without a clue, swamped in a poisoned forest truly nightmarish, only to fight your way back to the Hamlet? I thought it would make a good addition and a nice touch.
The purpose of this mode is then really simple: it adds a new wallpaper among the rooms in the Weald. As I said earlier, this is in fact a first try mod, so don’t expect much. It’s nothing special, it’s nothing new, but I’m proud of it anyway. Even if its just one single picture, I worked hard, focusing on coherency, trying really hard to stay true to the original lore, feel and atmosphere of the game, while at the same time managing to do something more, in the hope it can get, if not appreciation, at least attention.
