Aura's LVS Overhaul

(Previously Aura's LFS Overhaul)

What does this addon contain?

This addon features many updates to the LVS base, here is a list of changes or additions

• In-flight HUD with Throttle monitor, Altitude meter, and pitch scroller
  
• Voice line / sound interactions for certain things happening, such as shields running out, shields back to max, health below 50%, primary or secondary ammo depleted, ship health at 0, and enemy ship activating (engine turning on)
  
• Added requested feature for blasters to do less damage to LVS vehicles, as would be more realistic, a ship shooting another ship would do a lot of damage, a small blaster would not do much, also this will allow for people to make special ion rounds for LFS vehicles to do more damage
  
• Alert menu for important information such as ship health percent shown below 50%, and ammo or shields depleted
  
• Crosshair update to show friend ship pilot names so you can tell who is flying what, (this was in another addon of mine, but this being the overhaul I had to include it), distance meter and visual effect for targeted ship (ship target designated by ship pointing towards, or crosshair over a ship)
  
• Added feature to allow players to roll with their vehicles, so if your vehicle turns left or right rolling, the camera rolls with it, so you can have realistic flight simulation in vehicles ---- THIS FEATURE HAS BEEN REMOVED FOR COMPATIBILITY WITH LVS ----
  
• Added feature that shows admins and superadmins when a player changes an LVS property, such as AI team, or HP or anything like that, so now staff can know who (except other staff) has changed values, this can be used to see what player turned on a vehicle AI and catch minges, ect.
  
• Added a mini radar to the HUD of vehicles, this can be disabled obviously, but it is useful to tell when you have ships on your tail, or you just like to see the fighting from the not so safety of your ship
  
• Added new context menu settings menu! Hold C and hit Aura's LVS Settings to change it to your preferences
  
• Added new alert for when you have hostile AI on your tail, no more useless evasion when no one is even chasing you, now you can know if there are hostiles
  
• Added requested HP and shield bars as well as text boxes so you can really tell just how close you are to death!
  
• Added config for superadmins, if you are a server owner, you can use the command !lfsConfig (caps don't matter) you can disable any settings clients can control, but for the whole playerbase, you can also disable a couple other settings for admin notifications, and damage changes

All of these things can be toggled off by holding C and pressing on the new Aura's LVS Settings menu, adjust the check boxes to your needs!

Why would you make an addon with all this stuff?

I originally planned to just make some small changes and add the voice interface, but as I added more interactions, people suggested things like the HUD, and this and that, so I decided to just add everything that seemed practical into one pack to maximize RP potential, as well as just bring a new look to the LFS system. I love LFS and everything about it, but it is not very interactive, so I wanted to make it feel more sci-fy, more what you would expect especially for futuristic vehicles, like in SWRP, Halo RP, ect. I love making things more immersive in gmod, and I felt this was a great way to do that. The design for this was originally made for SWRP/CWRP as its a more futuristic take on the vehicle HUD, but works well for other military RP types as well.

WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN????

Well, after 3 years since updating this addon, I have done a lot. I moved entirely away from GMod for quite some time. I don't think I will be coming back permanently, but I may update my LFS addons to be compatible with LVS, so look forward to some of that in the near future. I had decided to drop GMod after a change in my learning (I no longer study computer science, if you couldn't tell by my janky code) so I have been wanting to keep some old projects alive to keep my skills sharp and take a nostalgia trip. Many people have continued to use and complain about my addon, and for that I thank you all, as it means you still care! I hope this new version works for another 3 years at least, so I don't have to mess with it again! I won't go into personal life details, but this project, or the community it was for never entirely left my mind. If SWRP is still a living gamemode (or even 40K or Halo RP) maybe they can find some use in this yet...
