well its a 10:1 armor ratio, where block AC is multiplied by 10. Wood has 3 AC, so it would simulate 30mm. For lower than 30mm, I use a mod that adds in thin armor plates with the same AC, but half the hp. These I use for armor <30mm, such as US auxiliary turrets and open turrets. Because these blocks are very thin, it allows for a larger interior space by allowing you to slap them outside of 1m armor and get a 2m AC value, just without the HP. Also, all cannons are simple or Advanced, with realistic penetration values. All AP shells follow a 2:1 ratio, so an AP of 40 is only 20mm of pen. Yamato has the thickest armor value at 600mm/60 AC, so 120 AP would be needed for an AP round to penetrate and destroy the first layer. Non-AP rounds ignore this rule. It's not a perfect system and still needs more testing, but mathematically it should work.

How do you estimate armor value? I think it's tricky, considering that in ftd you cant make armor thinner than 1m. I want to see some of your ships:)

Also, all the WW2 inspired weapon mods that have now been released have made this dream of mine even more reachable, just going to take a lot of time. Especially because I am not the most skillful builder yet.

Any really, I am taking the best historical ships I can find and trying to rework them into a realistic WW2 campaign, with approximate armor values and weaponry. I am starting with the US and it's talking an incredible amount of time to not only build the ships, but finding schematics on each ship and attempting to emulate them in FtD. This Hashidate you built is simply incredible, and the highest caliber I have found so far in terms of detail and realism.
