Dividing the Spoils

India, sometime during the second century BC...
The Maurya Empire has collapsed following a military coup by the Emperor's trusted general Pushyamitra Shunga. The subcontinent is fractured and under threat by strangers from the west. Meanwhile, burgeoning kingdoms to the north and east are growing in strength, biding their time and waiting for the moment to strike. Lead your people to glory through military might and diplomatic tact to ensure that your nation shares in the spoils of the Maurya Empire's legacy.

This map is a diplomacy map for 8 players. Each player takes control of a historical faction and has to use the combined powers of diplomacy and military conquest to complete objectives and ultimately win the game.
HOW TO WIN: Complete quests to spawn relics at your capital. Accumulate 7 relics and hold them for 10 minutes to win the game (victory timers can be found in the northern corner of the map).

All players' civilisations should be set according to this faction list.
Factions:
Player 1 (Blue) - Tamil Kingdoms (Indians)
Player 2 (Red) - Shunga Empire (Indians)
Player 3 (Green) - Âu Lac (Vietnamese)
Player 4 (Yellow) - Satavahana Empire (Indians)
Player 5 (Teal) - Bactria (Byzantines)
Player 6 (Purple) - Arakan (Burmese)
Player 7 (Grey) - Zhangzhung Kingdom (Burmese)
Player 8 (Orange) - Western Satraps (Mongols)

Population limit is 250.
Read hints and scouts for each faction's abilities and quests. All factions have a unique set of 3 quests and a few special features including powerful spawned units like Phalanxes, Merchant Guards, Tribal Warriors and Kshatriya Swordsmen.
Build castles in areas marked by gaia torches to conquer cities. Each city generates income every 15 minutes.
Remember that castles cannot be contructed outside of city locations, and will be immediately deleted if they are.

- Stone Walls and Gates
- Bombard Towers
- Bombard Cannons
- Cannon Galleons
- Hand Cannoneers
- Mangonels/Onagers
- Trebuchets
- Spies/Treason

The following items are limited:
- Watch Towers (Max 25)
- Scorpions (Max 5)

Battle Elephants are also disabled for P7, but not for P3 or P6.

A note on the history of this scenario:
This scenario is only loosely based on the history of India during the 2nd century BC. Certain events presented may not be entirely accurate and I am aware of this and I do not believe it be a concern. For example, the Western Satraps factions realistically should not exist for at least another couple hundred years. However, it is my goal and my hope that this scenario proves to be enjoyable and replayable in any case, regardless of historical accuracy.
