Copehill Down, England

描述
Copehill Down is a Ministry of Defence training facility near Chitterne on Salisbury Plain, Wiltshire, England. It is a 'FIBUA' (Fighting In Built Up Areas) urban warfare and close quarters battle training centre where exercises and tests are conducted.

It is located at Ordnance Survey map grid reference grid reference SU017453.

The facility was built in 1988 to resemble a German village in Bavaria, to provide troops with a simulated backdrop when training for operations in European theatres including the Cold War, the Balkans and Northern Ireland. In recent years the facility has been expanded to include a shanty town made up of cargo containers stacked and laid out in rows of tightly packed streets, to provide an additional training area that more closely resembles the Army's operational theatres in Operation Herrick and Operation Telic.

We used this terrain as our training map for about a year, now releasing as it's not being used anymore. Includes an airfield, shooting range, vehicle depot and the main CQB Copehill area.

known issues:
- airfield concrete has grass
- some wheat field surfaces are inconsistent
- vehicle depot area has wheat field surface

I used this map for a private fun-op with friends, as SAS who are staging up / training for a coming operation. They loved it. The map was really immersive for that kind of thing.

Been wanting a map set in the UK and I have to say, you've got the countryside down as well as can be in ARMA, very cool. Can't speak to the place itself as I've never been.

It's supposed to be a generic version of the area. Not a complete replica 1:1 including custom buildings.

Poor attempt if I'm honest - I've been to copehill countless times. I have a good knowlage of the site. this map is way off, especially considering the newer parts that where brought in like 4 years ago. if you want help with modding the correct buildings then hit me up as this site/map is a great site to play.

@StuntKeeper I'll check when I have some time. CUP may have updated a classname since I created the terrain. Which is most likely the issue.
