COVID-19 | Corona Virus

The COVID-19. A deadly plague that could sweep a whole server down within seconds with a single shot of this deadly gun. This addon brings the Corona virus directly to your server re-created as close as possible to the actual virus in terms of gameplay.

Corona Gun
The Corona virus can be spread by using a special gun. During the time you have this gun equipped, you're overtaken by regret and fear so you cannot aim it properly. The gun only comes with 5 shots and cannot be reloaded. Shots that hit a player are only considered do to anything, shooting it in random spots will just waste ammo. If a player comes in contact with a shot, he will instantly be infected with COVID-19 and begin the infection process.

Spreading the Virus
The virus will spread automatically during player interactions. Infected players will cough periodically and infect anyone near them at the time of the cough. The best way to avoid infections is to stay away from other players that have been infected. Players can also spawn poisonous entities that will infect other players upon consuming them, which will be useful if you're running a Roleplay server and want to keep it limited.

Recovering from the Virus
You can now recover from the Corona Virus without having to suffer! There are 2 ways you can recover:
- Medicine - You can spawn medicine from the spawn menu or purchase it from a job if you're on a Roleplay server. The medicine will instantly cure you from the disease.
- Sinks - You can spawn sinks from the entity list and use them to cure the disease. The sinks will play a quiet sound to let you know that its successful. Admins for roleplay servers can scatter them around the map in public areas for easier access.

The Virus will deal a random amount of damage each time a player coughs, death isn't guaranteed depending on the infectivity rate. After a period, infected players will automatically become cured unless they have been killed by the Virus before that. All kills during this period will be credited to the person who began the spread of the Corona Virus.

The addon doesn't use any external files so you don't need to add it to your FastDL content. The gun is internally named "coronagun" should you wish to give it via admin command and as a DarkRP job weapon. The only effects that it makes is the smoke with server-sided code and re-uses assets from Half-Life 2.

Roleplay Servers
With the consumables update, you can now set up ways to contract and prevent the Corona Virus without having to give around guns. You can setup a job to offer the consumables that can either cure or infect players. The entities you'll be spawning from the job are called covid_poison and covid_medicine.

You can also setup sinks around your server so players can have an easier time curing it for general counter play if there's no player offering medicine. The entity you'll be spawning is called covid_sink.
