EMD DDA40X - Centennial

The DDA40X is a 6,600 horsepower (4.92 megawatts) D-D diesel-electric built by the General Motors EMD division of La Grange, Illinois for the Union Pacific Railroad. Nicknamed 'Centennials' because they were built around the 100th anniversary of the completion of the First Transcontinental Railroad, and 'Big Jack'. The DDA40X uses two diesel engine prime movers, each rated at 3,300 horsepower.

Dear MaikC, Can you please make remod with the DDA40X, with new additions included and air conditioning unit on the engines roof and ditch lights under the front walkway, Number UP 6936.

The locomotives you mentioned all had one thing in common, they had less power than the EMD DDA40X.
The Alco 855 (4101kW) was built in 1964 but never mass-produced, there were only 2 (3) locomotives that were scrapped in 1972.
The DD35(A) with 3730kW was the predecessor of this locomotive, built in 1963/64.
The U50 (3700kW) was also introduced in 1963/64, the improved U50C was introduced together with the DDA40X. Due to many defects, all U50s, including C, were taken out of service just 5 years after delivery of the C Version, namely in 1976.

In the late 1960s, there are more powerful Diesel Locomotives, With the introduction of the GE U50s, EMD DD35 A & B units and ALCO Century 855 models for the Union Pacific Railroad.

I love your mod, and would love to change it so that the engine never goes away after 1989. Can you tell me how to make that change in your mod files? I've been digging through your mod files, and the only place I can find 1989 is in the strings.lua file, and changing those dates don't make a difference.

On my current map I have all my big coal trains using this engine, and now unfortunately it's 1992, and I can't add another one.
