In the 1920s the Austrian Federal Railways had a completely outdated fleet of passenger coaches. A project was launched to build commuter- and express-train coaches with standatized parts. Due to the world economy crisis only about half of the planned numbers of coaches culd be built.

The express train coaches that are included in the pack had electric heating, separated toilets for men and women and lined seats even in 3rd class. They were used throughout all Europe and were very popular. After WW2 the coaches were modernized and used for local trains. In May 1994 the last of them were put out of service.

This set contains 27 coaches that represent the most important conditions:

1928: delivery condition in moss green
1945: modernized painted in fir green, old lettering
1970: modernized painted in fir green, new UIC-lettering with large class letters
1975: modernized painted in orange-beige with beige roof
1977: modernized painted in orange-beige with grey roof

All cars feature aging and coloring; mixed-class coaches are all available in a flipped version.

Capacity: 44-72 (11-18) passengers
Weight: 35-40 tons
