Very useful, thanks for sharing.

it's still usable as of today though it gets buggy with left 4 bots 2 if you tell a bot to pick up a gas can since they cant take it out again

slot 6 not slot 8
Also you can't hold a gas can in your hand when one gas can is in the inventory, so it kinda ruins the point.
But for those interested it does let you carry a gas can in a brand new slot 6 without needing to hold it in your hands, so if that's your thing i highly suggest it.
if you are looking for a mod that is going to help you mass move gas cans for something like survival- keep looking.

do i have to type the bind every time or just once with "save" typed four times in the console?
