Sutton Bay is a map based on the Maine coast. It is heavily inspired by Acadia National Park and the surrounding regions, as well as some features from other places on the Northeastern Coast. There's space for a mid-sized town on the coast, and some pockets to make settlements around the map. The way I would play this map is one main town (something like Bar Harbor) and then some smaller settlements/suburbs around the coast and the islands. The main pond (basically a replica of Jordan Pond) can be used as a huge national park, with some smaller parks dotted around the map.

I was initially planning on having the coast much closer to the map edge, but I really wanted to go for a heavily forested look and including that much land only to cover it in trees seemed like a waste of space and resources. In the current state, the map only has about 120,000 trees, giving you guys another 130,000 trees to place before needing the Unlimited Trees Mod.

This map is my attempt at recreating the terrain features from Acadia, but it's not based on a heightmap. All the terrain work is done using in-game tools (or well, in Extra Landscaping Tools).

Features:
Transport: The infrastructure on this map is definitely meant for a smaller town. There's a network of national highways running around the main build-plain, and since you guys need mass transit you could make an extensive ferry network to connect the islands and other towns on the coasts. There's also some extensive shipping routes around the coast, and an airplane route in the sky (though I can't imagine this place having more than a regional airport.

Water: It's a coastal map so there's a ton of water everywhere (I'd guess most of the map is actually water). There's also some ponds (that's what they're called in real life) around the map, which could make for good state/national parks.

Resources: All the build-plains are marked with the fertile texture, and there's ore and oil in the bays.

Areas of Interest: There's a couple of lighthouses dotted around. I tried to use one as an actual light-"house", by splicing it in with a burnt-out shack (I've seen a lot of these lighthouses around the coast of Maine). There's also my attempt at an abandoned fort from the 1700s (I tried matching up the shape with structures I'd seen online, but still use only vanilla assets or the ones used everywhere else on the map.

Requirements:
DLC: You need Mass Transit for the map to be playable. Parklife will get you some additional detailing; not having it won't break your game.

Workshop: This map uses Theme Mixer 2 (it's mostly SCT-HOMECOMING with Owl's Alternative Mediterranean Theme for the water). There's also some trees and rocks. The map uses the Relight Bleak LUT.

Ultimate Eyecandy Settings:
Global Light Intensity: 4.5
Ambient Light Intensity: 1
I'd also set the fog to 100%. It really makes the sky amazing in the mornings and evenings.

Huge shout out to all the creators of the assets in this map, especially Greyflame. Those modular rocks are a game-changer.

Thanks for trying it out, and if you liked it, please leave me a rating! Happy building! :)

Thanks! Haha ya man the area this is based off of doesn't have any trains IRL. The area (Acadia National Park) is an island with two small towns and not too much industry. It would be a waste to put a train line in an area like that, which is why there isn't one IRL!

Hmm it could be, but the assets listed aren't essential for starting a map. Do you have Mass Transit?

I get constant crashes when trying to load the map, dont know if any updates may have screwed something up?
