Description:

The Exodus class Exploration Frigate is a full-fledged starship designed to carry you beyond your humble beginnings and put the stars and their bounty at your fingertips. A true jack of all trades, the Exodus can mine, fight, and carry heavy cargo with ease. Other features include a long-range teleporter, multiple sensor arrays and datacores, and even a cloaking device. This class is a direct upgrade from the Genesis starter, designed to provide everything a rifter could ask for in a tier 1 multirole.

The Exodus class is equipped for long missions, with a medium rift generator, two extra large fuel tanks, and two life support generators. A small but cozy crew deck offers living space for a captain and up to four crew, with equipment storage, a kitchen, and a full bathroom with a molecular assembler.

The ship's bridge is laid out efficiently, with the rift generator and cloaking device a few paces behind the navigator's station, and the cyber warfare suite just up the stairs from the engineering station. While a single pilot can easily control the ship from the navigator's station, the Exodus should put any available crew to good use.

Resource cost:
  • Iron 120.96K
  • Copper 35.81K
  • Silicon 12.32K
  • Steel 53.12K
  • Brass 1.8K

Stats:
  • Mass: 172.23K
  • Max Speed:358 m/s
  • Maximum thrust: 1.11M
  • Maximum power generation: 6002.5
  • Armor: 65008
  • Shield: 60000
  • Sensor strength: 3000
  • Primary Armament: 4x light pulse laser + 2x torpedo launcher
  • Secondary Armament: 8x mounted cannon
  • Perimeter Defense: 8x automated light pulse laser

Some notable features:
  • The medium rift generator and the cloaking device are located on the bridge behind the navigator's station for easy access.
  • The Utility Bay is easily accessible from the bridge, and is where mission cargo will land if it is automatically sent to the ship. It also serves as a salvage bay and a launch point for disposable drones.
  • A 1/2 cargo pad is located in the ship's magazine so that extra ammunition can be teleported directly where it is needed.
  • Two 1/4 cargo pads half-hidden behind the rift generator for storing extra xanthium in a handy location, plus a locker to keep your extra rift cards in.
  • Designed for your future - upgradable with ramscoops and/or a ship editor if needed. See below.
Optional upgrades:
  • Two or four of the ACTRs on the lower deck can easily be replaced with ramscoops (floor, type II) once you obtain aluminum.
  • If your mission profile calls for a ship editor to assemble ships or stations, either of the two cargo teleporters may be replaced with a ship editor. Recommend replacing the one in the Utility Bay.
  • Recommend using orange and white paint on the replaced devices to match the ship's color scheme.

Warp drive performance test: With batteries charged, shields up, weapons armed, and the cargo hold loaded with 300 crates of ammunition, the Exodus reached warp 9 and maintained it for 19 minutes before the batteries ran out. Batteries do not drain while warping with an empty cargo hold.

Tactical analysis: While not a dedicated warship, the Exodus outguns the S3 Reaper and has twice as much shield power. It should have no trouble holding its own on the Skrill-infested frontier. Four light pulse lasers provide accurate fire against small targets, while the heavy cannons provide a high-damage option to bring down tougher prey. Twin torpedo launchers provide additional range and utility. In addition, the Exodus features eight automated light pulse lasers, covering perimeter defense at all angles. The PD lasers are effective for quickly eliminating weak enemies at close range. The whole ship is equipped with an automated fire suppression system to mitigate damage in battle.

Additional tactical options include a cloaking device and a single cyber warfare suite, further increasing its flexibility. The ship mounts an EMP generator, although it is not enabled by default. Your ship's engineer can add it to one of the weapon groups if you wish to use it.

Industrial analysis: The Exodus is a significant upgrade from its little brother, the Genesis class. It carries three times the cargo and has twice as much mining equipment, plus a total of nine ACTRs, four of which may be replaced with ramscoops if desired. Twin salvagers are easily accessible from the bridge, so they can be operated either manually or automatically with ease. Salvage produces many different products, so having several ACTRs on board is useful. Note that although there is only a single large refinery, it can be automated to handle multiple products at once as they come in. There is also a handy hatch from the refinery to the fuel tanks in case you find yourself refueling by hand.

Disclaimer: We have at least one report of a brand-new Exodus-class vessel not functioning properly until fuel was added to the tanks. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

All of your vessels are great work. Keep it up! I never played for more than a couple of time. The game feels too "blocky" for me. But your design could change this. I will try it out the next days, farming from zero. To deserve your style.
Btw: is there any real multiplayer? With crews vs crews? Can't imagine. Should check this...

There's a thermal extractor in the life support room.

I thoroughly enjoy this ship design; I will admit, though, to modifying it out the yin-yang to fit my needs, but it is still a wonderful design! (I always need more cargo space, so I stuff cargo plates wherever there are holes :Khappy: )

Check the "Change Notes" tab for patch notes. They aren't detailed, but I have provided some.

Awesome ship! Could you provide "patchnotes" though?

The Exodus class is much too small to house a drone bay. If I create a large cruiser in the future, it will almost certainly have a drone bay.

Hey Valiant, great ship! Hey will you release a destroyer or cruiser variant with a drone bay?
