go to settings and go to game options
then, switch all the first 6 options that are there

Ok. Makes sense. Also, you can hide the arch from the other side with a fireplace. Just have to put out the fire before you go through.

It's not. The opening off the stairs is way smaller when there's no arch.

You can see it in that image. Left is with no arch and the opening is considerably smaller than with an arch, on the right. :)
You might barely fit a rollercoaster in there, but I also wanted a trackride be able to pass through. I added the arch because of that

When it is open the arch seems...unnecessary.

So you can have a track ride go underneath it when it's open :)
