描述
Loosely based on a real-life 'Parlour Car' at the Glenbrook Vintage Railway. The coach was originally built in 1915 at the Otahuhu Workshops, and she is classified as A 1452. She ran in service with New Zealand Railways between 1916 and 1977, when she was sold to the Glenbrook Vintage Railway.

Interestingly A 1452 remained in storage for 30 years, not being brought out of storage until 2007. It wasn't until 2016 when she returned to service. The coach has been heavily modified to serve as a Parlour Car. As I have been for a ride in this coach myself, I can report that she is equipped with nice leather seats, curtains and a large open viewing platform at one end. As well as the upgraded interior, the GVR also offers light refreshments to people travelling in the coach. These include pretzels, crackers and biscuits. A diesel locomotive - that being DE 507 - was the motive power on the day I rode in A 1452 or - as the GVR call her - the 1st Class Parlour Car.
