tl;dr: There is a cave in the middle, containing neutral workshops for anyone to make barrels, sentinels, traps and more. Also floating above the ground shards to capture! Not recommended, but any other gamemode but PVP conquest is possible.

To use workshop you have to bring corresponding resources into them, RMB to use. Barrels, Bombs, Sentinels, Traps, Iron ingots, Cogs - can be made in cave workshops. On ceiling there are 2 flying shards that can be captured also from hole at top(or from cave pedestal). Also there are little bonus resources on stocks (might attract workers from base). Tip: If you wanna make "not your" object your own like enemy capture ward you need to pick it up by holding RMB pie menu on it and put back using build task. Also "Editor camera" in settings(top-right cog) will help navigate cave.
