Focke-Wulf Fw-290 'Messer'

Forged in the foundries of Oberklippe, Reichtumskolonie, the Fw-290 Messer is the favored air-superiority fighter of the Galaxismarine-Eridanus. Designed in the 2060s by Focke-Wulf Reichtum, the Messer filled a critical void within planetary security forces. The fighter proved itself time and time again in combat against insurrectionist forces, guaranteeing its place as the mainstay fighter of the Oberkommando-Eridanus.

Unlike the various Messerschmitt fighters of Oberkommando-Sonne, which are built for speed, Focke-Wulf designs emphasize stealth composites and supermaneuverability. These traits give Focke-Wulf fighters superior performance against the less-conventional craft operated by terrorist cells.

Packed with sensors and thrust modules, the Messer is surprisingly compact in size. Two 25mm rotary chainguns flank its spacious cockpit, while a pair of rocket pods hang from its shoulder-mounted wings. Due to the rudimentary nature of terrorist and dissident aircraft, Galaxismarine fighters are not typically equipped with decoy launchers.

Controls for the Messer are standard-fare. The weapons, docking connector, antenna, and engines are independently controlled via the toolbar. Operating the Messer requires only minimal training to maximize performance output, though more sophisticated maneuvers will require significant flight experience.

• The Messer is 100% vanilla, featuring no DLC blocks, nor skins. In fact, it is my first vanilla craft I have uploaded to the workshop.
  
• This fighter is ridiculously maneuverable, despite including only one gyroscope. Keep an eye on your velocity and heading to avoid accidental lithobraking.
  
• To enter the Messer, look towards the blast door blocks on the sides of the windows, as far back as they go. You can enter when looking at the right angle (Keen's seat is finicky).

I can't believe I actually have to say this, but this workshop submission is not an endorsement of fascism, Nazism, nor any other extreme ideology. This submission is a look into an alternate history from my perspective, and tells part of a fictional story I threw together while half-asleep. If bad guy builds offend you, I don't care.
