After wrestling for a few years as Tugboat, Fred Ottman turned heel by joining forces with Earthquake and changing his name Typhoon. The team, known as the Natural Disasters, would go on to become WWF World Tag Team Champions for a few months in 1992 after a face turn.

Ottman left the WWF in 1993 to sign with WCW, where he would debut infamously as The Shockmaster.
