But one thing that would help (irks me also in vanilla scheme for vehicle, line and other colours:
Why can gamers not see the CURRENT colour of an item.
Every time I want to colour another vehicle (say same colour for 2 different bus models) I have to trial and error to match. Workarounds are: Cloning but that does not work when one wants to match the colour of an already pre-coloured mod (e. g. take a Berlin Bus mod and try to match colour with a vanilla bus) or parking two items in the game next to each other and the again, try, try, try. Without even a record of which shade one has already tried.
This would be so much easier if there just was a tiny white border outlining (surrounding) the CURRENT colour of the vehicle, line etc. in question.
