Daikatana, The (for Katana)

The Daikatana from John Romero's Daikatana

The Daikatana is a sword too long to qualify as a katana that was crafted by Usagi Miyamoto at the request of the Mishima clan. Miyamoto gave the sword (that is powerful enough to slice time and space) to the rival Ebihara clan instead, and after the bloody war the sword was lost in a volcano for a while. It has eventually been discovered by one Kage Mishima, and after a series of events that included but were not limited to all three aforementioned families' descendants crossing their interests once again, terrible marketing and management, and a shotgun with a sticky trigger, a bad future was undone and the sword was hidden by Hiro Miyamoto. Unfortunately, Hiro became bored soon, and his time traveling shenanigans caused a massive amount of this sword's copies to end up in another universe where a different disease plagues the land.


Time traveling and cyborg vermin not included, although the dumb AI sidekicks and frequent sewer sections more than make up for the true Daikatana experience.
