Men-at-arms (Crossbows)

Updated for the Twisted and the Twilight
"Imported Crossbows are lethal even in the hands of the most dim-witted Peasant"

Imported Imperial Crossbows can be brought into the lands of the Lady if the Lords (in their misguided ways) decide that they trust their peasants enough to have a lethal mechanism at their disposal. Packing as much of a punch as a longbow, the Crossbow is easy to use but lacks the capability to be rapidly reloaded. These men-at-arms haven't been trained to use the weapon nearly as much as the Empire's state troops, and the result shows, but they make up for it in the toughness of their regular Men-at-arms apparel.

Mod Features:
• Lethal yet inexpensive crossbow infantry.
• Trained at the Workshop, they allow for a different style of Bretonnia gameplay.
• They are able to be trained at Copher Port, giving Repanse a more interesting early game!

thats fair, though in 6th edition crossbows weren't allowed of peasants of any kind and men-at-arms are still technically peasants. I created this mod before I had read the army book or any of the novels were as I have now, which makes me less fond of a mod like this since its not really lore accurate. I used to not care at all about lore accuracy so long as the intent was still in line with the spirit of what the lore was about but I dont think this passes the smell check for me

Thank you!) Longbows are certainly good...) However, in my opinion, based on the lore, bows are the weapons of the peasants. But spears, polearms and crossbows are already for men-at-arms (although they are not knights, they are already higher in status than peasants). Yes, and in military bearing and in morale, they are much better than the peasants. I like the look of Men-at-arms with crossbows.)

I think you will enjoy my overhaul mod, the royal men-at-arms (longbows) were actually designed as a replacement for this unit
