SpaceX - Tesla Roadster Mk1 - Starman

No its not a Porsche, this is the Mk1 Tesla Roadster launched into space by SpaceX.

Subscribers to my workshop may recognise this car as it pops up in some of my builds.

The original Mk1 Tesla Roadster was launched (by year, not by rocket) in 2008 and was produced for four years until 2012. The Roadster was the first car that Tesla had manufactured and the car itself had a chassis based off of a Lotus Elise.

In 2018 Elon Musk sent his own personal Mk1 Tesla Roadster into space using the heavy lift launch vehicle called Falcon Heavy. This made the Roadster the first production car to be put into space. The Roadster had a dummy in the driver's seat called Starman who wore a SpaceX spacesuit. There was also a little Hot Wheel Mk1 Tesla Roadster stuck next to the dashboard of the car (Elon though it was funny). The Roadster was originally going to crash into Mars, however it missed and is now orbiting the sun (with many millions of miles being clocked on the trip computer).

Lets hope the Tesla Cybertruck makes it to Mars next time.

To control the Roadster enter the left seat. The vehicle comes equipped with front lights, back lights and working indicators. To power the Roadster there are two nuclear reactors and batteries.
