Rick Martel

Rick "The Model" Martel started his career in the early 70's, working for promotions like Stampede Wrestling and Pacific Northwest Wrestling.

He signed with the WWF in 1980 and began tagging with Tony Garea. The duo won the WWF Tag Team Titles twice before Martel left for the AWA.

With the AWA, Martel won the AWA World Heavyweight Championship in 1984.

He rejoined the WWF in 1986, and partnered early on with Tom Zenk as The Can-Am Connection, and would later form Strike Force with Tito Santana.

In 1989, Martel became "The Model", a self-obsessed gimmick in which he would often spray opponents with an oversized cologne sprayer.
