Rebirthed for Transport Fever 2!

The E2 was one of the last locomotives by EMD (at the time EMC) to use the Winton type motor. The E2 was a more aggressive styling originally bought for the City of Los Angeles train and the City of San Francisco on the Union Pacific Railroad.

While no units survive today (SF-1 was converted to an E7 and LA-1 was sold to CNW where it was totaled in a head-on collision) the SP who eventually inherited the SF-1, held onto the motor and it is now an exhibit at the Illinois Railway Museum.

The sounds were taken from a Winton energy plant motor, similar to what it would have sounded like.

well, this is getting an entirely new mod, and this one will be depracted. But, yes it will get new skins and a recolorable one for sure!

this mod will be deprecated in the coming months as I've been working on a completely revamped model with a better nose and windshield, new plow and basically completely redone body.

It will also include the City of San Francisco, the Daylight scheme for SP ownership after the joint ownership ended (formally the City of SF), and the CNW owned model (formally the City of LA). They will all have new textures.

What year does this become available? I've had it enabled since the beginning of my playthrough and even tailored a route a wanted to run it on but im now in 2020 and still never seen it.

nah, the E2 only had 2 models made, for two seperate routes. I could I guess but it would be fictional, just wait until the E7 and E8 are released :P
