If anyone is having the problem roman_kh is having (Ferian faction icon not showing up in world map) and unsubscribing/resubscribing to the mod isn't working, the problem seems to be a discrepancy in the filepath for the icon specified in the Ferian Faction Mod file Factions_Ferian_World.xml which specifies where to find the icon for the faction and the Ferian Race mod which contains the file. to fix it, I went to the Ferian Race Mod folder and changed the mod folder name "world" found at the location Steam/steamapps/workshop/content/294100/1922097212/Textures/ to "World" (i.e. I capitalized the folder name).

Alternatively you could change the filepath provided in the field <factionIconPath> in the Ferian Faction Mod file Factions_Ferian_World.xml from World/FerianWorldBase to world/FerianWorldBase. Obviously, don't change both.

does this mod add a faction that isn't patched for the royalty DLC? I am stuck at -100 enemy from the empire for no reason because one of my mods adds a faction that isn't patched for royalty. I googled a quick patch tutorial but I need to find out which mod needs to be manually patched

After I re-subscribed to both of these mods, everything worked, the icons of the Ferian settlements are displayed on the map again.

The problem still remains even if all other mods are removed from the mod list, leaving only the core, Humanoid Alien Races 2.0, Ferian Race, and Ferian Faction. Even after starting a new settlement, the Ferian settlement icons are not displayed on the map. Although not too long ago this mod worked fine. The problem may be related to the localization of the game, although the problem remains in the English version of the game. It remains to try to subscribe to these mods again.

Okay, so the solution would be to resubscribe to those to mods
once I did that the icons will reappear.

I think that as a matter of respect one should check that the error/bug is caused by the mod itself and not an incompatibility to not waste their time, I think that should be the norm so it´s a good thing to keep in mind on the future but after all is your choice and apologies if i sound rude that´s not my intention
