This does not affect the AI in any way or change the AI functionality. ALiVE is supported but does not do anything unless you are playing in an ALiVE created/supported mission, so it's not doing anything in the campaign to change the AI's reactions. What may be happening the AI may be using more grenades or engaging longer due to having more optics/scopes, carrying more ammo or having more grenades to use compared to vanilla but none of my faction mods should affect the actual AI functionality.
Regarding Kerry, some player or AI units may have forced loadouts for some missions, particularly the base campaign, which may overwrite the custom loadouts but in my case I just took a rifle off a dead friendly who hit a landmine.
But soldiers tend to use pistols instead of their rifle.
