But I agree with your critic, that a glove or backhand plate would be fitting. Alas, I'm no longer modding Kenshi, so if you want to see this, you'll have to do it yourself.
This is an altered version of someone else's work, so you have my permission to use my edits as a baseline, and then you just get permission from the original author and you're good to go.
Should be pretty easy to do backhand plate. If I were you, I'd copy an existing part of the mesh, that's already UV mapped, and just resize it and place it over the back of the hand. Making a glove would be a bit tedious, perhaps you can use a glove from someone else's work, and just remap the UVs.
If it isn't compatible, for whatever outlandish reason, it will be immediately evident, and safe to remove, even if you save your game with this mod. So, no risk. Just give it a whirl, and if it works, plz, come let everyone else know, to save them from having to ask.
