What this mod about?
It adds ability to build cheap and fast ships to patrool and explore.
  • ability to build Scout Drone (cheap subpar Science Ship)
  • ability to build Scout Ship (cheap throwaway variant of Corvette)
  • ability to discover and equip early hybrid hyperdrives (similar to Eager Explorers)
  • tech to improve section choise for ships listed above as well as Corvettes and Frigates

Which files are affected?
  • distant_stars_events_1.txt entry "distar.164" and folloing

Lirycs
I always wanted to have some cheap, fast, quick to build ship which I can trow into unknown. Now I have those. All thanks to me.

You can feel free to rip this mod open, learn all things you want and take all artwork if you like it. Attribution of authorship I will leave on your conscience.

Also, wow! Steam! Can't catch description to one mod and then grabing description from the other mod? Impressive feat of inability!

Attention!
NOTICE: You must create design for SCOUT DRONE manually cause AI have no idea what to do with them.

Also I want to recommed you some really good mods wich I like and would like to see integrated in game: UI Overhaul Dynamic, Simple Locked Slot, Building Tier Numbers, Nice Text

Latest updates:
  • 2025.10.10 Adjusted for 4.1 and new shipsets, tech weight slithly increased, localization expanded
  • 2024.06.10 Cyber and Machine skins fixed, some files and code refactored
  • 2023.09.25 Refurbished some code, fixed some issues, added proper tech locks, added fancy tooltips to reflect some effects
  • for more update info look into "Update Log"

It's [v3.14.*] actually. And you must use the second come and number or star after it.
I'll fix it later.

even you just updated this but it is throwing version warning on the launcher and you have it set "3.14" but should have set to 3.14.* or 3.14.1

Scout drone isn't combat capable but is cheaper. Scout ship has PD and S weapons slots, and can be attached to a fleet.

Should have mentioned, no nebula or any other. Just a G star. What blocks view? Often can't see into / from M-class either.
