Is There A Small View?
Currently in Steam Client Beta you can switch to the small view

In the taskbar click "View->Small Mode"



To switch back go to View->Large Mode

How Do I Hide Games
If you wish to hide a game from your library, right click on the game and select "Manage" -> "Hide Selected Games"

You can also hide many games at once, by doing a Ctrl or Shift select on the games you wish to hide and doing the above

How Do I View Hidden Games
You can view any games you have previously hidden by going to the main taskbar at the top and clicking "View" -> "Hidden Games"

Why Are There Many F2P Games In My Library
In the new Steam UI, any F2P games you have previously played will be added to your library. This was because users would play a F2P game, and switch to a new computer, but have difficulty finding the game in the Steam client.
I Want To Remove A F2P Game From My Library
If you wish to remove a F2P game from your library listing

Right click on the game, "Manage" -> "Remove From Account"




If you previously had added many F2P games, you can mass remove them by Ctrl or Shift clicking those games and repeating the above step.

If you have many F2P games you wish to remove, you can create a Dynamic Collection with the tag "Free To Play" which will help you narrow down what games in your library were F2P originally.
How Do I Manage DLC?
DLC for your game is along the right sidebar
  • Click the game you wish to view DLC for
  • Scroll down a bit
  • Look long the right side bar

From here you can
  • View DLC in Store
  • Manage DLC

How Do I See Screenshots?
Currently the new UI does not automatically pop up the screenshot manager when you exist a game

You can still view your screenshots via

1) View->Screenshots



2) When viewing a game, it is along the right side bar

How Can I Show Locally Installed Games
You can show what games are installed or playable via Remote Play by clicking the small "Play" like icon



You can toggle this button to show games

I Only Want To See Local Games Not Remote Play games

If you wish to only show locally installed games you can create a Dynamic Collection for that

  • Click the 'bars' icons beside the search bar
  • Check the box "Installed Locally"
  • Click "Save as Dynamic Collection"



This will create a dynamic collection of games that are only locally installed on your computer. As the collection is dynamic, any new games you install will be added to this collection, and any games you uninstall will be removed

How Can I See How Much Disk Space My Games Take Up
On any Collection you have there are various sorting options. One of them is "Size On Disk"

Click the pull down beside "SORT BY", and select "Size on Disk"



From here your games will be sorted into 4 categories

  • Greater than 100GB
  • Greater than 50GB
  • Greater than 20GB
  • Less than 20GB

Under each game you will see the size the game takes up on disk

I Want To Use More Tags
Steam's advanced search lets you create collections filtered by Store Tags as well

Go to the advanced search and begin typing in a Store Tag. The search will fill in the best match for that Store Tag. You can repeat this process for multiple Store Tags.

I Don't Want My Dynamic Collection To Change
There might be a situation where you use the advanced search to find some games you like. But you don't want this collection to change. You can convert a Dynamic Collection to a Snapshot. This will freeze the Collection in time so any games you add or remove from your library will not be impacted.

While viewing your collection, in the right hand side, click the gear icon. Then click "SNAPSHOT"


I'm Seeing Tools and Software In My Games List / Cannot Find Tools and Software
To find or remove software and tools from your list

* Click on the GAMES pulldown
* Check or Uncheck SOFTWARE or TOOLS as you desire

The Latest Steam Client Beta allows you to sort your library by account
I Want To Reduce The Bandwidth Used
You can reduce the amount of data that is loaded in the Steam UI by going to the menu bar at the top

Steam->Settings

Then go to " Library"

From there you can use the following options

  • Low Bandwidth Mode
  • Disable Community Content




These will reduce the amount of artwork and bandwidth steam uses to download community content when viewing your library

The New UI Is Slow Or Crashes
There are some ways in which you can reduce the resources the UI uses

In Steam click Steam->Settings

Go to "Interface"

Check or Uncheck "Enable GPU accelerated rendering in web views"



Enabling this feature can improve performance. However it can at times cause things like YouTube videos to hang (note this is an upstream Chromium problem not a problem with steam itsefl)


You can also try to improve performance via 2 other options

In Steam click Steam->Settings

Go to "Library"

Check "Low Performance Mode"

Check "Disable Community Content"

Where Is Steam Music
The Steam Music interface and player are viewable in the top tool bar under

View->Music Details
View->Music Player

Can I Rearrange Shelves?
Once you add various shelves to your Home section, you can also rearrange the order for them

* Mouse over the name of any shelf
* You should then see in the middle of the shelf name a "triple bar"
* Click and drag. Note you don't have to click and drag the "triple bar" that UI element is only there to show you that the entire bar can be dragged
* Now you will see all your shelves collapsed into just their titles
* You can freely click and drag any shelf into any order you like
* Once you're finished click DONE

How Can I See All Games
* Click on the "GAMES" pulldown
* Uncheck "Group By Collection"

How Can I Quickly Scroll To The Top Of The List?
In the list view on the left, you can quickly scroll to the top of the list by clicking the "up arrow". Note this arrow only appears when you scroll down far enough to need it

How Can I Get To The Workshop?
You can get to the Workshop for a game in one of two ways

1) If a game has workshop support there will be a workshop link across the bar



2) Alternatively if you scroll down the right side bar has a link to your Workshop Subscriptions under the DLC section

How Can I View CD Keys
For older games that had cd-keys for various 3rd party registration services, you can find them in one of two ways

1) Right click on the game in your library. Select "Manage". Select "CD Keys"


2) In the library view, click the "Gear" icon. Select "Manage". Select "CD Keys"


Can I Hide The Small Icons Beside Games?
You can remove the small icons beside a game's name in the list mode by going into

Settings->Library

Uncheck "show game icons in the left column"

How to disable community feed in games, but keep developer updates rolling ?

I am interested in details about updates from devs,
I am not interested in loading in other community stuff in my game library.

How to achieve this ?

How do I get rid of the awful whats new at the top of the new library page? It's basically an ad and makes me want to abandon steam forever.

@Macabra Apothecary check this out, will remove it, but keep in mind, if the file get updated when Steam updates, then have to do it again maybe.

@rustigsmed, downgrade is when you get less, or worse, in this case, we're getting more, and improvement, but if you don't like it, whatever, each to their own. Also there is a VR tag, try using it, not hard to use the filter system which was added in this new UI. Also not hard to arrange game collections, can use tags, or filters to help make list more easier to manage quicker. If you don't want to mange your library, then don't no one forcing you to, we have filter system that will just pin point all games with tags you're looking for taking the guess work out, which you couldn't do in the old UI, as you have to manually check each game, and manually put them into collection, while UI make it easy better experience, but again each to their own.

how many pages did it take to try and explain the changes? nice one STEAM. no VR section? get a life. Who wants to manually arrange their collections when you have hundreds of games.

It was overdue for a change, and they held it off for years, we had the same UI for last 10 years, which they wanted to change every couple of years, not decades.

The only thing I needed in my game pages are the articles Steam links back to! I don't see them anywhere, so I'm gonna pass on this one, thank you -and I personally don't get why reworking the entire UI was necessary…-

There's videos in the steam store, some free, some for sale.
It's those specific ones that end up in your video section in your library, not your uploaded clips.
Software is the same deal, it's stuff from the steam store.
