National Museum of Scotland

Opened in 1998, the Museum of Scotland was designed by Benson and Forsyth Architects around the concept of a Motte and Bailey castle. The museum sits in the centre of Edinburgh adjacent to the older Royal Museum on Chambers Street which merged in 2006 to form the National Museum of Scotland.

Exhibits within the building illustrate 350 million years of Scotland's history with natural and human historical artefacts including fossils, medieval weaponry and industrial age machinery.
