The Shark

John Tenta had been successful in the WWF as Earthquake, but he couldn't ring the gimmick with him to WCW in 1994. He debuted as Avalanche, but after the WWF threatened legal action, Tenta changed up his gimmick and became The Shark and join the Dungeon of Doom.

Tenta went all in on the gimmick, even altering his tiger tattoo (Tenta was an LSU alum) to be a shark. The gimmick, however, was short-lived, and after leaving the Dungeon of Doom, Tenta began wrestling under his real name after cutting a promo that included the lines, "I'm not the shark, I am not a fish. I'm not an Avalanche, I'm a man."
