The Knights Hospitaller

The Knights Hospitaller is a small mod which sets HOI4 in an alternate history where the Sovereign Military Order of Malta never lost control of Malta, Rhodes, Cyprus, and its Caribbean colonies.

The new focus tree is slightly larger than the vanilla Italian and generic trees and is mostly made up of industrial and military branches, with a conquest branch that allows you to grow the SMOM and mount a tenth crusade, retaking the lands of the Teutonic State, Latin Empire, and finally the Kingdom of Jerusalem and other crusader states.

The SMOM starts with a Crusader Spirit national idea that can be upgraded after completing the "Reawaken the Crusader Spirit" focus and gives increasing bonuses to stability and war support, and military bonuses as well. Other national ideas are gained through the focus tree and give construction and production bonuses.

This mod adds Rhodes and the Maltese islands in the Caribbean as new states and thus is not compatible with other mods that add states. It is also incompatible with mods that edit the Malta, Dodecanese, Cyprus, Leeward Islands, Palestine, Puerto Rico, and/or French Caribbean states.
