IMPORTANT: You must start a new game or import in order to see the full effect of this mod in-game!

NOTE: I have run into a repeated pathfinding issue with one of the buildings created for this mod that I can’t seem to fix into the mod itself. If you can’t enter a building, rebuild the navmesh with Ctrl+Shift+F11 and it’ll fix it on the fly.

WHAT IS THIS MOD?

“If you don't deal with your demons, they will deal with you, and it's gonna hurt.”

This mod adds a new skeleton sub-race to Kenshi- this time an addition to ‘round out’ the ‘slim’ choices we got in the vanilla game. Enter the Hazards Unit, a skeleton variant designed to survive in the toxic industrial waste piling up in the Old World. These mighty machines were equipped with nigh-impenetrable spherical shells, and were exceptionally durable and strong in their own right.

Some of these bygone titans have survived to the modern day, and they are easily among the strongest warriors out in the wilderness. Legends say they can't be killed. Of course, these shell-heads don’t always see eye-to-eye with their squishy neighbors. There are ancient sins to be atoned for…

WHAT DOES THIS MOD ADD?

-Rather than simply throwing a new race into the game, I’ve gone and added a new enemy faction to raise hell in your game. They’re very tough.

-There is a unique recruit named 8-Ball. I don’t need to explain that one, do I? You can find him across the United Cities, but he’s a guaranteed spawn in Brink. I think you’ll find he’s a ball to have around.

-Hazards Units are sprinkled throughout the world to complement the vanilla skeleton types. Their spherical armor can also be found for sale around civilized parts. Other races can wear it. It looks funny.

-There is a new weapon added in as well: the Long Spiked Mace. It’s a long spiked mace. Whack.

-And there are a few surprises thrown in for good measure.

IS THIS MOD LORE-FRIENDLY?

-Strictly speaking, no. There is no mention of Hazards Units in dialog. However, I believe I made this mod in the spirit of the lore. Thought and care were put into fleshing out the new faction and characters and placing them into the world of Kenshi.

The mod is fine, but raids of 30+ units with MK maces that hit 60dmg on gates and near total harpoon resistance is a little silly. I like the vibe and the dialogue, but fighting big groups is more of a teeth pull than beak things

Is there a way to deal with the problem where the character models aren't loading, so the Oni don't just appear invisible

these guys are pretty nasty but any mid-late game character should be able to handle them in a 1v1 because of their slow attack speed. recommend subbing to the revision mod though so they stop raiding/spawning a million miles away from venge.

I've been playing as a Hazard Skeleton for a while now; A mechanical merchant with whom I plan to build an emporium one day. This character, called RU-N1 "Rune" was once a shelf filler at the warehouse of a travelling merchant, but upon his boss's death decided to pick up the trade himself.

I've been travelling quite a bit so far with some bodyguards and a couple of mercs, and the guy has yet to die. Really enjoying myself so far. I even ran into the Oni recently on a risky and nearly fatal expedition to Brink (as a stop before my final destination in another town), and oh boy, it took the entire town guard and half the night to take that thing down. I was lucky to have outrun it.

This mod is super fun, but I've run into issues crafting Oni Hazard shells. I acquired the blueprints to make them, but they don't show up in the Heavy Armor Smithy. Anyone know which crafting table makes them, or is this a bug?

I love 8-Ball though, he's so tanky and rotund.

I am just wondering but can you have the Oni as an Ally? I am playing a run with an Oni character and want to side with them.
