launch Left 4 Dead 2 authoring tool
launch tool mode
select particle editor
import weapon_fx.pcf
duplicate the .50cal tracer and name it weapon_tracers
save the pcf

I turned off all sfx/vfx mods, but this one still doesn't work. Is there any way to extract texture from a .pcf file? It worked before, now it doesn't, I really love this bullet tracer.

you only need this in order to work . Try disabling all your other addons to check
